Imbolc

For those of us going through Winter, take a peek outside and get some inspiration from nature, you will see signs of New Life popping up everywhere.    Next week we celebrate Imbolc which is the mid-way point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox.  Astrologically the mid-way point this year is August 7th.  As this date changes each year it is often observed on August 1st.
At Imbolc we begin to see the first signs of Spring, flowers are starting to bloom and the days are getting longer.  Imbolc is the Celebration of the Mother Goddess with the young Sun God that was born at Yule.  This is Sacred day for the Divine Feminine.  On this day our Ancestors would initiate any of the young girls who had begun their Moontime into the Sisterhood and the Feminine Mysteries.

This is a perfect time to revisit the Manifestations you set in place at the start of the Year.  Tick off what you have already achieved.  Make any adjustments needed with any changes you have experienced through the year so far.  Set any New Manifestations that you want to achieve.  Start working on your new Manifestations and any you haven’t started on.  Just as we are seeing the first signs of Spring appear, we can also see how the seeds we planted at the start of the year are growing and beginning to bloom.
This is a wonderful time to Celebrate the Goddess and our Earth Mother.  Spend some time outside if you can (rug up though it’s still cold out there).  Create a special night with the Goddess and Honour the Divine Feminie within you.  Put yourself at the top of that pesky To-Do-List and do something that makes your Soul Sing.  Create a special place in your home to display signs of the Wheel beginning turn towards Spring.

Many Blessings to you all and may all your Manifestations come to reality.

A Magical Month Ahead!

Today marks the 1st day of the Lunar Calendar such as the one the Chinese follow, this is known as the Spring Festival and goes for 15 days.  It is a time when people return to their families and celebrate the past year and welcome in the New.  On the first day the Chinese believe you should not shower, clean or do laundry so you do not wash away all the Good Luck.  This year we will be entering the Chinese year of the Fire Monkey on February 8th.

Tomorrow we also celebrate Lammas here in the Southern Hemisphere and Imbolc in the Northern.  Lammas is the "cross-quarter" day marking the first harvest of early grain, where the first loaf of the bread from the harvest is broken and shared in the name of the Goddess. All crops associated with grain and of the season are sacred to this time. It is a time to reflect on the successes of the year and to reward yourself for jobs well done. Lammas magic can be magic of facing up to change. The God gives his energy to the crops to ensure life while the Goddess, as Mother, prepares to transform into her aspect as the Crone. The God loses his strength as the days grow shorter. Traditionally this day falls on February 2nd, however astrologically it falls on February 4th this year.

For those of you in the Northern Hemisphere the Wheel of the Year is turning to Imbolc. Also known as Candlemass. For those of you going through Winter take a peek outside and get some inspiration from nature, you will see signs of New Life popping up everywhere. This weekend you celebrate Imbolc which is the mid-way point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. Astrologically the mid-way point this year is February 4th. As this date changes each year it is often observed on February 2nd.

Mercury is also in Shadow Phase at the moment, which is the phase just after the actual retrograde period, until February 14th. This is the time to consolidate anything that arose during the retrograde period. Jupiter has also recently entered its retrograde phase, on January 8th, allowing us to look at issues concerning self-love and self-esteem. This phase continues until May 9th.

We also have a rare event occurring in our skies throughout February, with five of our major planets in alignment. These planets include Mercury, Venus, Mars, Saturn and Jupiter. This line up highlights areas of Self-Worth, Abundance, Action, Communication and Personal Responsibility.

Use this time wisely as the universe gives you a cosmic push in these areas.

I wish you all a Magical Month!

Happy Hump Day!

It has been a slow start to Winter here in the Southern Hemisphere, but it has arrived in full swing now.  Winter can be a wonderful time.   We can rest, stay warm and nurture our soul.  We naturally start staying home more as days shorten.  We feel the need to withdraw slightly from the daily treadmill.

To kick start winter there is now a pot soup on the stove that my daughter and I cooked up yesterday.  My favourite part of winter is having the pot of soup on the stove.  I remember coming home from school and Mum would have the soup hot and ready to go, this is a tradition I kept for my daughters and I hope they will also have the wonderful memories that I have of warming up with a bowl of Mum’s soup.  Soup really does nurture the soul.

Now that the wheel of the year is turning towards the Winter Solstice it’s time to look at your diet again.  Are you eating yummy winter vegetables full of the nutrients our bodies need for winter?  Mother Nature has a wonderful medicine cabinet for whatever season we are in.  Eating seasonally is so important for our overall health and wellbeing.  If you’re not sure what’s in season take a trip to your local growers market instead of the supermarket where produce can be 6 months old or more held in cold storage so that they can sell it year round.
Winter is a time when we go within and do what our soul needs us to do.  Heal the parts that have been hurt by the chaotic world we live in.  It’s time to slow down and do what we need to do to nourish our soul.  Connect with Source and recharge yourself.  Meditating, Yoga or just curling up with a blanket and a good book or movie.  Whatever your body and soul is asking you to do make a date with yourself regularly and do it.

New Moon in Taurus - Partial Solar Eclipse

This New Moon falls in Taurus.  The Taurean New Moon brings the Goddess Venus to help us with the new beginnings and awakenings triggered by The Lunar Eclipse at the Full Moon two weeks ago.

This New Moon brings with it a Partial Solar Eclipse closing the door on this current Eclipse Phase.  This Eclipse speaks of health, health of the body, mind and soul and what our true values really are.  The Goddess Venus is here to help us step into our power and begin Living the Life we are meant to Live.

How did everyone get through the last couple of weeks?  We have had some intense energies thrown at us.  April has been a ride and a half, however it is not quite time to get of the ride.  For a summary of the last couple of weeks check my last post for the Full Moon in Libra.

We are still feeling the effects of the Cardinal Grand Cross that peaked last week, the planets involved are still in the process of moving out of this formation.  The Taurean New Moon tonight brings us grounding energy which we have been lacking the last few weeks.  We will find it easier to ground our Mind, Body and Soul feeling more centred than we have been.

The theme with this pair of Eclipces has been one of clearing out the old and now having the space to bring in the new.  During this time we need to care for ourselves as we welcome in our new way of life.  Do not think you are being selfish needing to take time out for you, in fact you are being Self-ful.  Self-Care is not selfish it is Self-Ful which is something we all need to practice.  This can be a hard concept to get our minds around at times especially when we have to do and be for so many around us, let alone taking time out for ourselves.  At the end of the day though, if we don’t care for ourselves we won’t be able to care for those around us.

It is said that during the Eclipses the veil between the worlds are at their thinnest.  Quite interesting considering tonight is the Eve of Samhain here in the Southern Hemisphere.  Samhain is time when we honour ancestors.  Check back here tomorrow for a full Samhain Report.

New Moon Blessings to All.

It's the Weekend and the New Moon in Cancer!

What have you got planned for the Weekend?  I have decided to have a mini retreat.  As we approach the New Moon in Cancer over the Weekend.  This is a good time to look at where we need to be taking better care of ourselves.

Each Weekend I talk to you about self-care and its importance.  I remind you that it is not pampering but essential to our wellbeing.  Self-Care has to become a priority in our lives if we are going to achieve what we are here to do.

With the New Moon in Cancer it is a perfect time for you to look at your life and see where you can be taking better care of yourself.  Are you eating Seasonally and giving your body the fuel it needs?  Are you getting enough exercise?  Are you spending time creating?  Are you meditating as much as you would like?  All of these questions are important if we really want to care for ourselves to the best of our abilities.

This Weekend I have planned a mini retreat at home.  I have mixed up a beautiful essential oil blend to add to my bath tonight.  I have stocked up on art supplies for my afternoon of creating tomorrow afternoon after I have been to the local growers market.  Sunday I will be meeting my daughter at the airport on her return from her first overseas trip to Cambodia.  After a family lunch I am coming home for a relaxing afternoon of Meditation and Journaling for the New Moon before spending a night of ritual.

Then to round out the whole weekend Monday night I have Red Tent where I will be honoured to share circle with my Amazing SiStarhood!

I so excited about having a mini retreat without having to spend a fortune and still honouring each part of myself.

What are you going to do for your Weekend?  Why not plan a mini retreat?  The best thing about mini retreats is that we can do them anytime.  They don’t have to be a whole weekend.  They can be an evening, morning, afternoon or a whole week if we want.  Let your imagination run wild and see what you can come up with.

I’d love to hear some of your idea’s, you can share them here on my Facebook Page.  Make sure you check out my Facebook Page for all your New Moon Updates.

Have a Magical Weekend!

Taking my own advice!

You may have noticed the blog has been a bit quite this last week.  As many healers we are quite often the worst patients. This week I have had to take my own advice.  Not always an easy thing for any of us to do.

I won’t go into any of the details other than to say I had a bout of Gastro, we have all experienced the symptoms to know what it does to your body.  Once the symptoms subsided enough I moved into the recovery phase.  To begin with I only wanted to sleep but being dehydrated I needed to be rehydrating as well, so for the first couple of days consisted of sleeping and taking sips of water whenever I opened my eyes.

After four days of nothing but water and electrolytes I needed to start refuelling my body if I was going to heal.  So into the kitchen I went and cooked up a huge batch of veggie soup, 24 different veggies to be exact.  So this has been my diet for the last couple of days, soup, soup and more soup.  Add some sunshine whenever I could, not that easy being Winter, but thankfully we have had some beautiful afternoons this week.

I have forced myself to rest, not an easy thing for me, but I know if I don’t I won’t be able to continue my journey.  Rest, rest and more rest.  I have gone back to basics with my diet and supplements to assist my body in its recovery.  Dug into my supplement cupboard and started on Mega B, Zinc and Vit C.  This is my preferred combo to not only boost my immune system but to assist my body for normal daily functions.

By Friday I was beginning to feel human again, in time for the weekend.  Sunday I spent a wonderful day with some amazing women who are journeying their Inner Goddess Makeover.  This month we met Athena who governs our Solar Plexus.  It is a great honour as a graduate of this amazing journey to support the new women through their journey.  Each month I am blessed and inspired to see these women transforming and stepping into their own Inner Goddesses.

So with my inspiration fuelled and my body feeling healthy again I am excited about the beginning of the new financial year and continuing on my journey.  I have a lot of dreams and goals to manifest.

Now is time to get this New Year started with Manifesting Monday.  Get out your Manifestation Lists and start working to make them a reality.  Nobody else can do this for us, we need to take control and make the commitment to ourselves to improve our lives and do what makes our hearts sing.

Happy Manifesting!

P.S.  The new Website is now live, it still needs some work but its on the way.  Please drop by and visit.

Making Self-Care part of your Weekend schedule will not only make your Weekend more enjoyable but it will improve your overall Health and Wellbeing.

Self-Care does not need to be long drawn out rituals, although they can be nice, there are many small things that will have the same effect.  Below is just some small things you can do, hopefully it will help you become creative and come up with some of your own ideas.  I’d love for you to share them with me, either here or on my Facebook Page.

Enjoy your Weekend!

It's the Weekend!!!

Happy Friday Everyone!

Are you ready for the Weekend?  Some of us are lucky enough to have a long Weekend ahead of us.
Now we all know what the weekend means by now, its Self-Care time.  Eventually we will all realise that it is not pampering and is essential to our overall Health and Wellbeing.  If we don’t care for ourselves we will get to the point where we can’t care for those we love.  I know that sounds harsh but it’s true.  We have to put ourselves at the top of the to-do-list if we are to have any chance of getting through the list.

I know I write about this every weekend but I believe it is even more important now for us to learn how to care for ourselves.  We have more demands put on us in this new digital age where everything is 24/7.  If we don’t schedule in Self-Care we are likely to never get round to it, until it’s too late and we have burnt ourselves out.

This weekend also brings us the New Moon and with the New Moon comes New Beginnings.   What is it that you want to attract into your life?  What is it you want to set in motion for the New Month?  Make sure you check out my Facebook Page for all the New Moon updates.

I have busy but fun weekend ahead of me.  I will be creating my new work space.  I can’t wait to share some photos with you.  With the added bonus of it being a long weekend I am hoping to devote Sunday entirely to being creative in my new space.  Then on Monday I am looking forward to snuggling up on the couch with my lovelies and having a DVD day, something we haven’t all done together for a while.

So whatever you have planned for the Weekend make sure you schedule in some time just for YOU!  I’d love to hear what adventures you get up to.

Till next Week take care of YOU!

It's the Weekend and the Wheel has turned again!

It's the Weekend again.  We all know what that means.
Self-Care time!  What are you going to do for YOU this weekend?  Have you put aside some time yet to tend to your own needs?

If not do it now!  Even if its only half an hour.

Self-Care is not pampering, it is taking the time you need to care for yourself.  We spend all our time caring for the ones we love and rarely take the time we need for ourselves.  When we go week after week busy with everything and everyone we run out of time and energy for ourselves.  So that's why dedicating time on the weekend to ourselves we can refill our tanks and go on with caring for the others in our lives.

This weekend the Wheel turns again.  For those of us in the Southern Hemisphere we have entered the dark months of the year as Winter begins.  Our self-care needs are about nurturing and turning inwards to care for inner self.  It is time to hibernate and stay inside and work on our shadow selves.

For our friends in the Northern Hemisphere you have entered Summer so your self-care needs are different.  Get outside and enjoy the warmth and fresh air.  Take your shoes off and walk on the grass feeling mother earth fill you with energy.

By honouring our body's needs in sync with the cycles and seasons of the earth we can create that ever elusive balance that we all seek in our lives.

As with everything in life it is important to us we make it a priority and in doing so create the time, invest the energy into making it a reality.

YOU are important so make yourself a priority, create the time and invest the energy into making your dreams a reality.

Make a commitment to yourself to start making YOU a priority.  There is nothing to feel guilty about in taking time out to care for yourself.  Give yourself permission.  Believe me it is worth it.

So on this cold and wet weekend I am going to snuggle up, stay warm and read my book I have been trying to get through for the last couple of months.

I would love to hear what you have planned for YOU this weekend.
